The Maltese Government should take a clear stand against Zionism

Naftali Bennett

The Communist Party of Malta appeals to the Maltese Government to  condemn the formation of the New Israeli Government which includes in the new cabinet the Deputy Naftali Bennett belonging to the far-right "Jewish Home Party".
It is a well known fact that “the far-right Jewish Home Party strongly opposes the formation of a Palestinian State and supports  further settlements on Palestinian lands. As a matter of fact, after this new government was formed, Israel gave the green light for construction of another 900 new homes in Ramat Shlomo, a settlement neighborhood in East Jerusalem”.
The Communist Party of Malta shares the same views of the international communists and worker’s movement for the establishment of a Palestinian State and for the immediate release of all communist activists from various prison camps belonging to the Palestinian Authority, and also from those belonging to the Zionist State of Israel.

RESOLUTION OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNIST INITIATIVE O THE 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ANTIFASCIST VICTORY OF THE PEOPLEs

The European Communist Initiative during the meeting of its Secretariat in Athens on 8/9 issued the following resolution on the 70th anniversary of the Great Antifascist Victory of the Peoples:
70 years ago at the daybreak of the 9th of May 1945, the seemingly invincible Germany unconditionally surrendered. The Red Army crushed fascism and raised the red flag with the hammer and sickle high over Berlin.
The European Communist Initiative honours the over 20 million dead of the Soviet Union, all those who sacrificed themselves, who were disabled on the battlefields, who contributed with self-sacrifice and heroism to the defeat of fascism. It notes the vanguard role and decisive contribution of the communist parties all over the world to the national liberation struggle.
We honour and defend the unsurpassed contribution of the USSR and socialism, the struggle of the communists from the lies and ahistorical distortions. The peoples of Europe today must reject the provocative and anti-historical aim of the EU and its governments to equate communist with the fascist monster. We must denounce the offensive that has been unleashed by capital’s forces which promote anticommunism, the persecution and bans on the activity of communist parties, the trials against communists, the outlawing of communist symbols and the dissemination of communist ideas, as recently happened in Ukraine, insulting the memory of the militants of the Great Antifascist Victory of the Peoples. The honouring of the Nazi collaborators and their political descendants is an enormous provocation. The mass celebration of the Anti-fascist Victory is a defiant response to the EU and capitalists that are vainly trying to transform this day into the alleged “Day of Europe”. The history of the Great Antifascist Victory of the Peoples will not be rewritten.
It has been demonstrated clearly and is confirmed today that fascism is created and nourished by the capitalist system itself, it is the most extreme form of the monopolies’ power that is based on capitalist exploitation. The fascist-Nazi ideology is inherently criminal. This was proved by the appalling crimes of the Nazis in World War II, the mass murders and persecution, the Nazi concentration camps, the criminal activity of the Sturmabteilung against communists, other antifascists, immigrants. The youth in particular must draw important lessons from this history.
The peoples today are suffering due to the barbaric anti-worker offensive of capital so that it can overcome its crisis, in the context of sharpening competition.  They are experiencing the new dangers of imperialist wars and intervention, in which the EU-USA and NATO play the leading role. Their enemy is none other than the monopolies and their power. Their future prospects are to be found in the struggle for the liberation of the working class from the shackles of exploitation. 70 years after the Antifascist Victory of the Peoples, its lessons strengthen our unshakable conviction that socialism-communism is the new world.
LONG LIVE THE ANTIFASCIST VICTORY OF THE PEOPLES

Communists against Government’s policy that sustains class society.

The Communist Party of Malta condemns Government’s neoliberal strategy of supporting the opening of an American University in Malta. The Government should focus more on the University of Malta with regards to public expenditure, human capacity and resources, research and innovation.

The Party maintains that “the result of this could lead to a two-class university system in Malta: underfunded, crowded institutions for the majority of students and private universities for the elite that can afford to pay. The Communist Party hopes that this is not the case”.

“The Bologna Process, an EU strategy that promotes reforms for a totally free market system in the educational system will strengthen the divide between those who have and who have not. Leftists should not give support to right wing policies and should instead campaign for a classless society”.

70th anniversary of the Victory over nazi-fascism

The liberation of Berlin by Soviet troops in May of 1945, marks the victory of the peoples in World War II and the defeat of Nazi-fascism – the most violent form of class domination generated by capitalism and the direct cause of the war and of the death of tens of millions of human beings.
The decisive role in the Victory of May 9, 1945 was played by the Soviet Union, its people and Red Army, under the leadership of its Communist Party. It was on the Eastern Front that the major battles which determined the outcome of World War II were fought. To mark the 70th anniversary of the Victory is to recall and celebrate the heroism, the courage and determination of millions of Soviet men and women who, at the cost of enormous sacrifice and of over 27 million dead, resisted and fought, giving a decisive contribution to the defeat of the Nazi-fascist barbarity. To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Victory is to remember and praise the heroism, courage and determination of millions of other resistance fighters and anti-fascist strugglers from all over the world who dedicated and committed their lives to the struggle for Victory.
Nazi-fascism was a brutal instrument of big capital to impose its rule, when confronted with the profound crisis of capitalism which followed World War I, in particular after the big crisis of 1929 and the repercussions of the October Revolution. Anti-communism was always a defining trait of Nazi-fascism. Everywhere, the working-class and popular movements, and especially the Communists, were its first victims. Everywhere, the Communists were in the front ranks of the resistance to fascism and were at the vanguard of the mass and armed resistance which led to the liberation.
Today, the resurgence of the fascist threat and the danger of a new war of great proportions are real and and growing. Again, in the context of an ever deeper crisis of capitalism – which results from its irreconcilable contradictions – big capital is attempting to emerge from the crisis by force, imposing brutal levels of exploitation and attacking the peoples' sovereignty and the independence of States on all continents. The big imperialist powers attempt to impose their world-wide hegemony by military means, multiplying their wars of aggression. Ukraine is living the consequences of fascist action, with the active support of the USA and the European Union – and of their military wing, NATO. In the name of “the struggle against Communism”, revisionism and historical forgery, with the shameless equation between fascism and Communism, are leading to a rehabilitation of fascism.
It is therefore of crucial importance to recall the lessons of history, to remember the crimes of Nazi-fascism, its class nature and the complicities which gave rise to its ascent. The tragedy of World War II must not be forgotten, so that another catastrophe may be prevented.
The undersigned Communist and Workers' Parties call upon the workers and the peoples of the whole world to develop their liberating struggle, to make the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Victory over Nazi-fascism into a powerful assertion of unity and struggle for peace, and against the threat of fascism and war, which is rooted in capitalism and which represents a danger to Humanity, and for democracy, social progress and socialism.

The May 1st Declaration of the Secretariat of the Initiative of the Communist and Workers Parties Europe.

The first of May –the Day of the working class, is a day to remember and honour the workers who gave their lives for the rights of the working class. It symbolizes its struggle to liberate itself from wage slavery and to abolish the exploitation of man by man, for socialism-communism. We continue to openly declare our aims, we address a call to the working men and women all over the world: the rotten capitalist system based on exploitation cannot be improved, it can only be overthrown. The EU cannot be improved and capitalism cannot become people-friendly. No management of this barbaric exploitative system can constitute a way out for the people. The only way out is the overthrow of the power of the monopolies, the socialization of the means of production. Viva  socialism!

We raise the significance of this important day for all workers, when here in Europe millions of people are jobless, mainly from the younger generation, when poverty is expanding. The future of the youth is seriously endangered. Basic rights of the working class are restricted, women are being discriminated against, poor farmers are being ruined and the self-employed are oppressed by the monopolies. The barbaric capitalist path of development is being followed all over Europe either with the management of the social-democrats, new or old, or with the liberals, with or without memoranda, regardless of a country’s relationship or association with the EU. This day symbolizes the demands on the path of class struggle, for permanent and stable work with rights, for all the contemporary needs of the working class and other poor popular strata that are being suffocated. It means fighting for the emancipation of the workers from employer-led trade unionism and the compromised leaderships.
Today’s May the First takes place in a period which is characterized by the strengthening of fascism, for example in Ukraine, which 70 years after the Great Anti-fascist Victory of the Peoples is being provocatively backed by the EU, the USA and NATO and their imperialist interventions that heroize those who collaborated with the Nazis! We reject the imperialist wars as intensely as we reject exploitation and the system that creates it. We reject the interference of imperialism inside independent states. We struggle for peace against the unjust wars. We commit all our forces so that the events to honour  May 1 and as well as those for the 70th anniversary of the Great Antifascist Victory of the Peoples will  be massive and successful.

Communist and Workers’ parties from all over the Europe gathered in ‘The European Communist Initiative’ and fight against the EU monopolies and their power.  They confront and oppose the crude anti-communist propaganda, the bans, the obstacles and restrictions on the activity of Communist Partie
s which are promoted by the EU. The EU which provocatively and anti-historically equates communism with fascism.

We address ourselves to you, working men and women, youth, pensioners, with the message - the unity of our class is necessary against the offensive of capital, the alliance with all the poor oppressed strata is our path.

Today, capital’s forces know their reign is coming to an end. Hope is to be found in the struggle for our contemporary rights against the monopolies and their power. PROLETARIANS OF ALL COUNTRIES, UNITE.
